About the Role

The Insurance Technician will support day-to-day technical and operational activities within the branch, ensuring accurate policy processing, documentation, and coordination with insurers. This role is critical in maintaining efficiency, compliance, and service quality across underwriting support and policy servicing functions.

Requirements

Essential Job Responsibilities

1. Policy Processing & Documentation

  • Prepare and process insurance proposals, quotations, and policy documentation.

  • Ensure accuracy in data entry, coverage details, and endorsements.

  • Maintain proper records of policies, renewals, and client documentation.

2. Underwriting Support

  • Coordinate with insurers for quotations, approvals, and policy issuance.

  • Provide complete and accurate risk information to underwriters.

  • Assist in negotiating terms and obtaining competitive quotes.

3. Endorsements & Renewals

  • Handle policy endorsements, amendments, and mid-term changes.

  • Track renewal dates and ensure timely follow-ups with clients and insurers.

  • Support renewal retention by ensuring seamless processing.

4. Coordination & Communication

  • Act as a liaison between clients, insurers, and internal teams.

  • Follow up with insurers for policy issuance, corrections, and pending items.

  • Provide timely updates to stakeholders on policy status.

5. Compliance & Quality Control

  • Ensure all documentation complies with regulatory and internal guidelines.

  • Maintain audit-ready records and support internal/external audits.

  • Adhere to SOPs and ensure minimal operational errors.

6. Claims Support (Basic)

  • Assist in claims intimation and documentation collection.

  • Coordinate with claims teams and insurers for status updates.

 

Skills & Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline

  • 3–5 years of experience in service industry, general industry experience is plus.

  • Working knowledge of insurance products such as Motor, Health, Property, Marine, etc.

  • Familiarity with policy processing systems and documentation standards.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Good communication and coordination skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
